Settings and Features
The Tax Form Calculator (TFC) settings allow you to tailor the platform to how you work. From accessibility and display preferences to device-independent calculation recovery, these features are designed to make tax work faster, clearer, and more flexible.
User Interface, Accessibility, and Workflow
The following settings allow you to tailor the interface to your liking, ensuring that your Tax Form Calculator experience is both comfortable and easy to navigate.
Email Your Tax Calculation
You can now easily email your tax calculations directly to yourself for future reference. This feature enables you to share your results and seamlessly continue working from any device, with no need to log in.
How it works:
- Use the Federal Tax Calculator or one of the State Tax Calculators and enter your details.
- The calculator will display your results, with options to either "Print" or "Email" them.
- Click on "Email" to proceed.
- Enter your email address and click "Go."
- Check your inbox for an email from us, containing a link labeled "Restore My Calculation."
- Click "Restore My Calculation" from the device you wish to continue working on. We recommend using a desktop or widescreen device for easier navigation of large forms and tables.
- You’ll be redirected to your saved calculation, where you can edit, update, or continue working on it. TIP: Remember to email yourself again with any updates!
Why it’s useful: This feature ensures that you can pick up where you left off, no matter where you are. Whether at home, work, or on the go, your tax calculations will always be available to you, making it easier than ever to access and update your data when needed.
Each restore link is unique to your calculation and opens directly into the calculator state you last saved.
Calculate Once, Switch States!
Introducing a new feature that allows you to input your information into any state calculator and then switch to other calculators while carrying over your data seamlessly. This feature is great for completing schedules and instantly working with the combined Federal and State Calculators, as all the information automatically migrates across. However, if you need to, you can overwrite the existing data for flexibility.
This allows for more efficient calculations, especially when working across multiple states and tax forms. Flexible calculations—just as you asked, and we listened!
This is especially useful when working through schedules first, then finalizing results in the combined Federal and State calculators without re-entering data.
Turn Off Ads
You can choose to browse the Tax Form Calculator without advertisements. Turning ads off removes visual distractions and creates a cleaner, faster experience across the site. This option is ideal if you frequently work with tax forms, calculations or long tables and prefer an uninterrupted workspace.
Support the project: Ads help keep our tools free. If you choose to turn them off, consider making a small donation to support ongoing development, updates and hosting.

Dark Mode
If you find a dark background easier on your eyes, you can switch to Dark Mode. This mode dims the page background, reducing screen glare and providing a more comfortable reading experience, especially in low-light environments.
Functionality: Dark Mode is toggled automatically based on your preferences, providing a more relaxing and energy-efficient environment for prolonged use.
Increase Font Size
If you prefer larger text for easier reading, the font size adjustment tool allows you to increase the text size across the Tax Form Calculator. This setting can help users with visual impairments or those who prefer larger fonts for clarity.
Functionality: The font size will dynamically adjust based on your selection, providing a seamless, user-friendly experience.
Decrease Font Size
Alternatively, if you prefer more compact text, you can reduce the font size to fit more content on the screen. This feature is useful for users who want a more streamlined view of the Tax Form Calculator without excessive scrolling.
Functionality: Adjusting the font size allows you to customize the amount of information visible on the screen at once, making your navigation more efficient.
Print Page
Need a hard copy of your tax results or any other page content? The Print Page option allows you to instantly print the current page. This feature is especially useful for saving offline records of your calculations or tax forms.
Functionality: Clicking the print button will format the page for printing, ensuring that all important data is presented clearly for your convenience.
Print layouts are optimized to avoid page breaks across tables and ensure totals remain visible on a single page where possible.
Why These Features Matter
These settings are designed to provide you with greater control over your Tax Form Calculator experience. Whether it's adjusting the appearance for ease of use, enhancing accessibility for better readability, enabling quick access to print your results, or having the ability to email your tax results for quick editing on any device, these features ensure that the tool meets your needs in a personalized way.
